The Eyes of the Lord

Is God looking for you?

INTRODUCTION: As the curtains of human history on earth are being drawn to a close, what is God looking for? What does the church look like? Is the church even aware of what God is doing? I believe God is looking for a few chosen vessels of honor to use for these end times. Is that vessel, YOU? God is looking for those with perfect hearts, not perfect lives, to show Himself strong. If God had a missing person file, would you be in it? What if it were a MISSING IN ACTION file?

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.... (KJV)

1. God is looking....

          * God is looking for the possible....

Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (KJV)

          * GOD LOOKS DOWN...

Psalms 14:2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. (KJV)

          ----almost identical! -----

Psalms 53:2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. (KJV)

2. The Eyes of the Lord

I Kings 15:4-5 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

5        Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. (KJV)

I Kings 22:42-44 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

43      And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.

44      And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel. (KJV)

          * His eyes are on the righteous!

Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. (KJV)

          *Man’s ways (not just activities) are before Him.

Proverbs 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. (KJV)

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (KJV)

          * The Eyes of the Lord PRESERVE KNOWLEDGE!

Proverbs 22:12 The eyes of the LORD keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful. (NIV)

          * His Eyes and His Face!

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (KJV)

3. God’s desire is to show Himself strong!

          * One of the problems.... is COURAGE!

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV)

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (KJV)

1 Chronicles 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. (KJV)

          * God will come to our aid.

Isaiah 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. (KJV)

          * God has strong weapons!

2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (KJV)

4. Is God looking for you?? Are you God’s agent for APATHY Or REVIVAL? Will you be used, or overlooked? Can God use you to help close the curtains of human history to beging His reign for the Ultimate Eternal Destiny?

* Can God count on you?

                                      * What great thing would you do for God If you knew you could not fail?
